William Pei Shih lives in New York City. His stories have been recognized by the John Steinbeck Award in Fiction, the Raymond Carver Short Story Award, The Masters Review Short Story Award, the U.K. Bridport Prize, the Alice Munro Short Story Competition, the AAWW North America Asian American Short Story Competition, Narrative, Glimmer Train, and others. His story collection was a finalist for the 2016 Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction. Publications include VQR, McSweeney’s Quarterly, The Asian American Literary Review, The Masters Review, Carve Magazine, Hyphen Magazine, The Bridport Prize, The Des Moines Register, Reed Magazine, The Bath Short Story Award, and Winning Writers. He has been awarded scholarships and fellowships to the Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Sun Valley Writers’ Conference, and Kundiman. William is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, MFA in Fiction.
